Hue Jackson’s conclusion to retain the services of Art Briles as Grambling’s offensive coordinator has not specifically engendered good will towards the system.
Jackson and his move each have been criticized closely looking at Briles, former head mentor at Baylor, was deemed by the NCAA to have dismissed reports of players committing sexual assault from 2011 by his firing in Could 2016.
Now, one of Grambling’s most noteworthy alumni and supporters has blasted the shift as well.
Doug Williams, a four-year starter and previous head mentor at Grambling State, stated he can no longer guidance the application as long as Briles is affiliated with it.

Williams’ condemnation of Briles’ choosing is a sizeable blow to Jackson and the method. Williams, who performed below Corridor of Fame mentor Eddie Robinson from 1974 to 1977, led the Tigers to a 36–7 document and 3 SWAC championships when two times earning Black Higher education Participant of the Calendar year honors and finishing fourth in the 1977 Heisman Trophy voting.
