Battle Creek native adds splash of neon to Michigan Avenue

Two public art installations are adding a splash of neon to Michigan Avenue.

Neon light-weight works “At Your Innermost Center” and “Usually on my Head” have been put in at 80 W. Michigan Ave. April 23. The tasks are timed to be lit day by day from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. and had been created by Battle Creek native Troy Ramos.

“It is a substantial honor to have it there,” mentioned Ramos, who now resides in Metro Detroit. “I just hope that individuals get to expertise it and whatsoever they get from it is good.”

The installations ended up produced achievable through grants from the Battle Creek Tiny Business Enhancement Office and Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.

The task also obtained a $1,500 award as portion of the BC Placemakers Challenge administered by Penetrator Activities.
